My Honor

I cried yesterday.

He walked up to me at the table I was serving at and wanted to know if he could have one of the dolls.  I asked him if he registered for one.  He said no, but his baby is due next month and he wanted a doll for it.

He would be gone.  Deployed along with my sister's boyfriend, Ruben.

I gave him the doll.

And I cried.

My heart goes into each cake I make.  They bring me joy.  But these served to soldiers and their families that I don't know but love anyway - it was special and it was an honor.

HOOAH!

. . . and every day.

I'm Rie, the proud Mama to Shelby.

This was my Mother's Day cake which I just realized she never blogged about.

It was lovely - just like her.

You can read about it here.

CLIF

I was a homeschooled chick.

And I loved it.

Last year my mama and some of my other favorite moms started a new homeschooling group - CLIF - Christian Learning in the Family.

I had the pleasure and honor of making the cake for the end of the year party.

Chocolate cake with buttercream icing.
